A gentle tramontana, a group of “young” enthusiasts, a monumental space eaten by vegetation, these are the ingredients with which a day of cooperation, collaboration and enthusiasm is cooked to recover the incredible history of this strategic island.
The collaboration between the Isla del Rey Volunteers, the Association of Friends of the Military Museum of Menorca, the Military Consortium of Menorca and several people who wanted to collaborate made it possible last Saturday, November 26, to prune and clear a large area of Spanish castle, corresponding to the areas of the northern and eastern bastions of the same.
There is still much work to be done, but with such a company it is certain that the recovery of the visibility of the plant of this magnificent fortress that rose on the south shore of the mouth of the port of Mahón can be advanced.
The joy of a job well done and the camaraderie that comes with sharing the physical effort were clearly evident in all the collaborators, who at the end of the day sat down to continue it as long as possible.
If time permits, the experience will be repeated shortly, on January 14, 2023, once the Christmas holidays have passed. All help is limited and if you wish to collaborate you must contact the Menorca Military Consortium via email (info@consorciomilitarmmenorca.com) or by calling 971 35 57 60.
This is our heritage, this is our history, help us preserve it.
