The new multipurpose room of the Palace of Isabel II of Mahón (former headquarters of the Military Government), inaugurated on May 30, will host next Tuesday, December 12, the second conference of the cycle dedicated to the commemoration of the 25th anniversary of the creation of the Consortium of the Military Museum of Menorca and Military Historical Heritage of the Port of Mahón and Cala San Esteban, specifically on June 22, 1998.
Under the heading “The Enlightenment in Military Education”, Lieutenant Colonel Francisco Javier Bartol Espinosa will discuss “the influence that the 18th century and the Enlightenment had on the creation of the first training centers and military academies for officers.”
Lieutenant Colonel Francisco Javier Bartol Espinosa is currently the director of the Military Museum of Menorca, located in the Plaza Esplanada de Es Castell.
The conference will take place from 5:30 p.m. and is open to the general public.
