Mahón, 06 March 2025
The company Pendent Serveis i Gestió S.L. will continue to manage the guided group tour service and other services at the Isabel II Fortress in La Mola de Mahón for the next three years, extendable for two more years.
The fee that the company must pay to the Menorca Military Consortium for the use of the facilities amounts to 28,000 euros per year, an amount that is added to other variants for the sale of tickets and the holding of social events and cultural and sporting activities. The total amount of the awarded contract amounts to an approximate value of 530,000 euros.
The Consortium of the Military Museum of Menorca and Military Historical Heritage of the Port of Mahón and Cala San Esteban called for the tender last year to award the management of the fortress, the use of group visits and the organisation of events and activities. Today the contract was signed at the Palacio de Isabel II with the only company that has submitted a public tender for the service.
The president of the Permanent Commission of the Military Consortium of Menorca, Colonel Víctor Manuel Herrero Álvarez, stated that “the successful bidder is synonymous with a guarantee of success and has demonstrated this over the last seven years that it has been managing La Mola”.
The manager of the company Pendent Serveis i Gestió S.L., Rafael Durán, said that “we are very excited to be able to continue with the management of La Mola and we hope to continue offering quality visits and experiences to residents and tourists”.
It is important to note that La Mola received a total of 54,000 visitors last year. In addition, the months of April, May, June and October 2024 were the best in the last 20 years.
Finally, it should be noted that La Mola has modernized its logo.
