Military training at the San Isidro Base in Mahón

The images in the following video correspond to Replacement 4/1997 BIL Mahón Menorca, that is, about 25 years ago. Therefore, its historical-military interest is beyond any doubt.

This is a company of replacement soldiers, when Military Service was compulsory, who were assigned to the San Isidro Military Base, very close to the port of Mahón. One day was missing for the celebration of the Flag Swearing Act and in the recording you can see a whole sequence of military training on the central esplanade in front of the main building.

It is very striking how the soldiers assemble and disassemble their regulation weapon in a matter of seconds and with greater or lesser skill, as well as the excellent timing of all their movements under the orders of their superiors.
