Swearing in of the flag by civil personnel in Menorca on May 28

On the occasion of Armed Forces Day 2022, the Alaior City Council and the General Command of the Balearic Islands have organized a Flag Swearing for civilian personnel, on Saturday, May 28 at 11 a.m. in Alaior, which aims to allow Spaniards who, without being professionally linked to the Armed Forces, can express their commitment to the defense of Spain by taking an oath or promise before the Flag, kissing the Flag of the 47th “Palma” Infantry Regiment.

As the island of Menorca lacks a Defense sub-delegation office, a team from the General Command of the Balearic Islands will travel to the island this week, where it will visit different sites in the towns of Menorca with a mobile office, in order to facilitate the registration to civil personnel who want to swear the flag.

The places to be visited are the following:

May 11, 2022:

Alaior: 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Plaça des Ramal.
Mahón: 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Plaça d´Explanada.

May 12, 2022:

Es Mercadal: 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Calle Mayor.
Ferreries: 12 noon to 2 p.m. Plaça Espanya.
Ciutadella: 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Plaça des Born.

Access on the day of the event will be free for the general public.
