La Mola: A visit amidst the shadows to uncover its key secrets

Some stories can only be understood when night falls… Amidst walls, galleries, underground passages, and defensive structures, La Mola conceals legends and secrets that come to life in *La Sombra de La Mola* (The Shadow of La Mola), a theatrical performance held at sunset.

Through a mystery story, the landscape and legendary heritage of this vast military complex are revealed.

This theatrical monologue by Carlos Garrido, performed by Josep Mercadal, unfolds within the walls of La Mola, recounting a story that reconstructs life at the site during the 1950s. It is based on a supernatural legend that ultimately evolves into a human portrait of the fortress’s unique atmosphere—its barracks, penitentiary, guard posts, moats, and cannons—evoking a sense of solitude and mystery that has given rise to all manner of rumors and legends.
