La Mola War Race

The first edition of La Mola War Race arrives in Menorca, scheduled for October 2 and 3 of the current year, a sporting event that had to be held during the same dates last year but had to be postponed “sine die” due to the pandemic caused by the coronavirus. This event will turn the Mola de Maó Fortress into the epicenter of popular obstacle courses with a sports day for all levels and physical conditions. A spectacular initiative supported by the Fundació Foment del Turisme de Menorca of the CIM and the collaboration of the Ajuntament de Maó, La Mola and the Consorcio Militar de Menorca.

The Mola War Race will offer the possibility of participating in two distances, the 6km MW Fast and the 12km MW Hard. In both tests, participants will have to overcome between 15 and 25 obstacles respectively, traveling a spectacular circuit that will pass between the most representative places and monuments of the Fortaleza de la Mola. The MW Kids will also be held so that the little ones can also enjoy this test.

La Mola War Race was born with the desire to promote popular sport within a unique enclave on the island of Menorca, to de-seasonalize the tourist season and to promote sports tourism through a consolidated concept such as running and obstacle courses.

The setting and the history that surround the Fortaleza de la Mola and Menorca give this event a unique experience for the participants. The organization considers that only with the first edition, it can become a benchmark event in the Balearic Islands and make the name of Menorca resonate in the field of sport, especially in the area of ​​obstacle courses.

La Mola War Race will be presented publicly whenever possible, for greater relevance and dissemination of such an important activity at the local, national and international level.
