The XVII Carrera Fortaleza de La Mola incorporates Nordic walking

Athletes who wish to participate in the seventeenth edition of the Fortaleza de La Mola race, which will be held next Sunday, May 7, starting at 10:30 a.m., can now formalize their registration online, through the website www.elitechip.net, or at the place of departure up to half an hour before the start of the test. The novelty of this year’s test is the incorporation of Nordic walking (non-competitive) in the male and female categories.

The Military Consortium of Menorca, the Fortaleza de la Mola and the Cecome Menorca atletisme-Maó are the organizers of this event, which, after 16 editions, has already earned its place in the calendar of sports competitions that take place on the island.

The competition has been planned according to the following categories:

• Initiation (under 8 born 2016-2017-2018…)
• Benjamin (under 10 born 2014-2015)
• Alevín (under 12 born 2012-2013)
• Children (under 14 born 2010-2011)
• Cadet (under 16 born 2008-2009)
• Youth-Junior (under 18-20 born 2004-2005-2006-2007)
• Senior (born 2003 to 1982)
• Veterans (40-45-50-55-60-65-70)
• Forces of the Ministry of Defense-State Security Corps
• Nordic walking, Nordic Walking, male and female (3,200 metres)

To formalize a category there must be a minimum of 4 registered in the male category and 3 in the female category.

Registration for federated and non-federated children up to and including under 14 (12-13 years) is free and from cadets (under 16) to veterans (with a technical shirt) it costs 10 euros (until May 7 ). Participation in the race includes day insurance and registrations on the day of the test (12 euros) do not have a technical shirt insured

In addition, both the participants and their companions during the test hours will be able to enjoy free entry to the military compound by visiting the facilities without entry cost.

It is important to highlight the collaboration of the Athletics Federation of the Balearic Islands (F.A.I.B.), Elitechip, the Association of Parkinson’s Patients of Menorca and Nordic Walk Camina con Elena.

During the course of the test, the Menorcan Association of Parkinson’s Patients and the work it carries out on the Island in favor of people who suffer from this disease, as well as their families, will be announced.

It is, without a doubt, the only athletic event that is carried out entirely inside a monumental, patrimonial and historical site on the island of Menorca, with an approximate surface area of 1 square km.
