The Iris Setmanari presents another historical document from the 20th century, filmed in 1936 by Luis Saura Sintes, who captured with his film camera the arrival of the Company of Machine Guns of Battalion number 3 to Ciutadella, coming from Castellón de la Plana. This military detachment arrived in Menorca because the Italians had invaded Abyssinia, specifically at the end of 1935.
His captain, Claudio Gil Alós, despite the fact that he was a military loyalist to the Republic, the Pere Marquès brigade locked him up in La Mola, where they shot him on August 2, 1936.
This graphic document has an important historical and cultural value for many reasons, among which it should be noted that it is a faithful reflection of the municipality of Ciutadella and its inhabitants of the time.
