More than 130 athletes have participated this morning in the XVI La Mola Fortress Race, an athletic event whose route has been carried out entirely inside the Fortress of Isabel II (La Mola), a monumental, heritage and historical site of the island of Menorca with an approximate area of 1 square km.
Juan Moreno del Cecome C.C.E. Sant Lluís, in men, has been imposed on the rest of the participants of the highest category at the end of the two laps of the 7,500-meter circuit with a timer of 0:27:17, 1 minute and 4 seconds behind the second classified, Miquel Torres del EC. Island Sport – Triton.
On the other hand, in the same category, but in women, María Pallicer has shown that she has no rival and has been the first to cross the finish line, once again, with a time of 0:30:18, with 2 minutes and 34 seconds. of difference with respect to the second classified, Katty Holguin of Lô Esport.
In the cadet category, the Cecome C.C.E. Sant Lluís has taken the victory in men and women, since the athletes Marc Truyol (0:16:00) and Elvira Roca (0:20:19) have been the first to complete the 3,750 meters of the race route in that category.
Special mention deserves the participation and effort of a small group of runners from Club Vidalba, as well as the members of the Forces of the Ministry of Defense and State Security Corps and a large group of children of different ages who have also participated in the race.
The director of the Minorca Military Consortium, Colonel Víctor Manuel Herrero, accompanied by the rest of the military establishment, has been in charge of proceeding with the delivery of the medals and trophies to the winners.
