Mahon, March 18, 2026
The Palacio de Isabell II hosted the first meeting of the current year of the Permanent Commission of the Military Consortium of Menorca (COMPER) this Wednesday, March 18, in the meeting room of its facilities.
Prior to that meeting, the representatives of the different organizations that make up the Consortium have carried out a guided visit to the Isabel II Fortress, located in La Mola of the port of Mahón, with the aim of getting to know on the ground the actions planned for the recovery and maintenance of several enclaves of said military historical heritage, as well as to see “in situ” the work that is being carried out by the La Mola Volunteer Association.
This recently created Association is made up of about 30 people who, in an altruistic way, dedicate an entire morning a week to all kinds of recovery and maintenance work.
The representatives of the Mahón and Es Castell Town Councils, the Balearic Government and the Menorca Island Council attended the meeting. Members of the Balearic Port Authority and the Balearic Defense Delegation, representing the Ministry of Defence, attended the assembly directly.
