On Wednesday and Thursday of this week, Division General Antonio Ruiz Benítez made his first official visit to Menorca as the new director of the Institute of Military History and Culture, after taking office on March 14.
The two days of work began early on Wednesday afternoon with a guided tour of the Castillo de San Felipe, the great hidden fortress, accompanied by Colonel Víctor Manuel Herrero Álvarez, director of the Minorca Military Museum and Historical Heritage Consortium from the Port of Mahón and Cala San Esteban since July 12 last year.
The next day in the morning he visited the Palace of Isabel II, on the street with the same name in Mahón, and, before lunch, he went to Es Castell to visit the galleries and the anti-aircraft tunnel of the Military Museum of Menorca, whose works , by the way, they are about to end.
In the afternoon, Division General Antonio Ruiz Benítez had the opportunity to visit La Mola Fortress in person, thus ending his first round of visits to the monuments managed by the Menorca Military Consortium.
