On December 22, San Felipe Castle received a visit from the president of the Menorcan Island Council, Adolfo Vilafranca, accompanied by the Minister of Culture, Joan Pons, and the Minister of the Environment, Simón Gornés.
Colonel Víctor Manuel Herrero Álvarez acted as host and accompanied them during the visit, while they toured the tunnels and received explanations at all times from the guide of the Menorca Military Consortium, Fernando Serrano.
The Castle of San Felipe, known as “the great hidden fortress”, hides in the basement a whole series of tunnels full of history of the port of Mahón, in particular, and Menorca, in general. If stones could talk…
