On May 24th, a group of members and family members of the Menorca College of Architects visited us.
Guided and illustrated by the explanations of architect Juan Vilardell, they toured the halls and floors of the Military Museum and, like all our visitors, left amazed by the large amount and value of the collections on display.
The museum allowed them to begin their subsequent visit to the San Felipe Castle (another of the island’s jewels), with a much greater understanding of the history of its construction, its influence on the future of the island and, therefore, on the Menorcan people.
Juan Vilardell is the author of “The Founding of Georgetown. Menorca 1771,” a must-read for the Military History Museum of Menorca and a must-see for any study of a specific historical period in this town in Es Castell (Arrabal 1 and 2, Georgetown, Villacarlos), the museum’s headquarters.
We hope you’ll repeat the experience with more family and friends.
