The Menorca Military Consortium pays tribute to Dr. Alejandro Fernández following his death on September 15.
A doctor-surgeon by profession and a sailor at heart, as reflected in his obituary published in the local press of Menorca, he was the author of two works published by the Consortium. The title of the first: “A Menorcan privateer, historical recreation of naval and medical Menorca at the beginning of the 19th century”, whose work continued with the publication “A Menorcan trafficker, historical recreation of human trafficking at the beginning of the century.” XIX”.
Asturian by birth and Menorcan by adoption, he came to Menorca for the first time with his parents in August 1980. He fell so in love with the Island that, three years later, he married a Menorcan woman and established his habitual residence here.

His passion for history prompted him to write the two aforementioned novels, for which he had to thoroughly document himself in the Hernández Sanz-Hernández Mora Library. It was the year 2006.
His legacy will forever remain at the disposal of society. D.E.P.
